Iam the best friend of Nicole.

One day I decided to get even more personal than just a friendship with Nicole. We had known each other since for nearly four years and I knew she had a long life story.

She told me about her struggles with self harm, a broken home, etc. and about the death of three friends. She told me she had struggled with self harm for several years and had been very uncomfortable with her body for as long as she could remember.

At the end of a long conversation she directed me to a video she posted on YouTube entitled "My Story -Nicole Leigh". She told me that the video could explain far more than what she could and that she would appreciate it if I watched it.

She also told me she found her strength through God. And that without him she wouldn't have even thought of recovering, let alone would it be possible. Its only through him that her STRUGGLE turned into STRENGTH.

Nicole had so much going for her but her life was sadly cut short when she was thrown 40 feet from a car only to be hit by an 18 wheeler. When police and an ambulance got to the scene she was alive, but unresponsive. She had to be airlifted to the hospital but never made it because before the flight was over she was pronounced dead.

Nicole is definitely an inspiration to me. Although she went through so much she still kept her head held high. I want to use what she left behind as a positive thing.

Those were the last words she said to me before she died and I am determined to make those words live on.
